How To Cope With Emotional Pain

Here is the third and final video about ‘Mindfulness’.

In this video I suggest how to cope with emotional pain.

Feeling painful emotions, not surprisingly, can be agonizing. This is why so many of us don’t do it. Instead, we ignore our emotions, or dismiss them. We try to numb the pain with a glass of wine or often a whole bottle. We isolate ourselves. Some people even choose to self-harm, in an attempt to numb the pain!

Basically, we turn to anything that’ll help us get rid of our feelings.  In fact, we do everything we can do to reduce our suffering and to avoid pain — emotional or physical. So it’s difficult to accept the emotional pain and not try to do anything to confront it.

When we fight the pain: judge it, try to push it away, avoid it or ignore it –  it actually triggers other painful emotions, resulting in more emotional pain. It is important to learn healthy ways to cope and to clear ‘negative Master Programs’ running on our internal hard drive such as ‘moody’, ‘unhappiness’ ‘unworthiness’, ‘helplessness’,’hate of life’, ‘unforgiveness’, ‘low self-esteem’ or many others.  CLICK HERE FOR ANCESTRAL HEALING THERAPY

Honouring our emotions simply means allowing them, resisting the urge to get rid of the pain and not judging ourselves for having these emotions.  It simply just IS.
