THE FULL MOON OR SOME WOULD CALL IT THE ‘PINK MOON’ IS DUE TO RISE OVER THE UK TONIGHT, 5 JUNE, OFFERING SKY GAZERS THE CHANCE TO SEE WHAT IS TRADITIONALLY KNOWN AS THE STRAWBERRY MOON. IT WILL BE VISIBLE TONIGHT, RISING IN THE SOUTH EAST JUST AFTER 9PM (UK) AS THE SUN IS SETTING ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE HORIZON.
With 2020 being a particularly stressful year, the Strawberry Moon is a time to regroup and enjoy the fruits of your labour. Like a farmer who planted seeds in the spring, this summer is when you see the results of what you planted.
Tonight’s full moon will likely be a high-energy period, in which many of us may feel compelled to work harder, chase our passions, and even take some risks we normally wouldn’t.
For those of you who have purely focused only on work, it’s vital for you to shift your mindset with the Strawberry Full Moon.
It’s not creating balance in your life, if you purely focus on work. Rest and play are important too, otherwise your health will suffer and in the current world circumstances, we all realise that our health is priority.
So now is the perfect opportunity to focus on self care, go out and enjoy the nature around you and most importantly, create positive changes.
Therefore, create balance between meeting your personal needs and tending to the needs of a significant other.
What are YOUR needs?
Many people don’t know what drives them to think, feel, and act in unhealthy ways. So many people are so far out of touch with their real needs that they can’t think of what they are.
It is essential to know your needs so that you can find meaning, satisfaction, and joy in your life.
The process of identifying your needs involves peeling away the layers of the onion of the unhappiness and dissatisfaction in your life. Begin by examining what lies on the surface of your life: how you behave. What precise actions do you take that sabotage your life?
Let me share a story about Liz and David (not their real names as everything is confidential). When Liz was complimented for cooking a delicious dinner by friends, her husband David, would belittle her in front of their guests and tell them that his wife didn’t do anything right. This behaviour made David feel better, but it hurt his relationship with Liz. The guests felt embarrassed, as no one likes people who speak badly of others. The result was that they lost out on several friendships.
With the self-defeating expression of the need identified, peel the onion back further to reveal the emotions you experience in these situations.
David would be consumed with righteous indignation and anger at the unfairness of his life. Anger is an especially useful clue in discovering your needs. Whenever you feel anger, don’t assume that it is the real emotion you are experiencing. Rather, anger is a defensive emotion that protects you from facing much more painful emotions (e.g., sadness, fear or loneliness) relating to your needs that were not adequately met as a child.
If anger is your dominant emotion, peel back the onion still further to uncover the primary emotion related to your reaction. Through our explorations, David learned that his behaviour had been propelled since childhood by fear. Think about what emotions do you need to address and book an Ancestral Healing.
Where the full moon, in general, will direct your gaze toward the future, the penumbral lunar eclipse will call your attention back to the past — namely, to old habits, relationships, or viewpoints. The time has come to let something go, something you’ve been carrying for too long. Lunar eclipses always highlight issues we’d rather leave alone but need to deal with in order to evolve beyond them.
This month, root out something that’s been holding you back from being the person you want to be, perhaps by getting some distance from a toxic friend or relationship and focusing on values you wish to adopt, such as honesty or kindness. Despite any immediate discomfort or feelings of difficulty, this will be an ultimately rewarding lunar event.
This week……
Express yourself and speak about how you truly feel.
Conflict may arise, so be diplomatic and fair. Balance it with speaking from your heart and being authentic.
Since the pink moon is named after the blooming flowers of moss pink, focus on new and exciting things that could bloom up in your life this season.
What action can you take right now to bring this into reality?
